Introduction

St. Jacob Orthodox Church is a community of believers from all walks of life seeking salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Founded in 2009, a handful of Orthodox Christians have maintained its small chapel and continued gathering to form a parish, with visiting priests coming to lead Divine Services from time to time. Like our patron saint, St. Jacob of Alaska, our parish seeks to bring the ancient Christian faith—what believers called “The Way”— to the Central Oregon area and establishing the only Orthodox Christian Church in Central Oregon.

Throughout America, Orthodox Churches from a number of ‘old world’ countries have established communities of believers; some Greek, Russian, Serbian, etc. St. Jacob is primarily made up of people from many backgrounds who have converted to the True Faith. We welcome those new to Holy Orthodoxy, as well as Orthodox Christians from every culture – from Africa, through the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
